Privacy Policy — QRBasic

Welcome to QRBasic ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our app to generate and scan QR codes or barcodes. QRBasic focuses on local, privacy-friendly operations: scanning/generating QR or barcode from text, playing sounds, vibrating the device, saving a scan history, and copying results to the clipboard.

1. What this app does

QRBasic lets you:

Scan QR codes and barcodes using your device camera or from images.
Generate QR codes from plain text.
Play a sound or vibrate the device to signal scan results.
Save scanned and generated codes to a local history.
Copy results to the device clipboard and share code images if desired.

2. Data and permissions

The app is designed to work primarily on-device. We minimize data collection and avoid transmitting personal content to remote servers. The app may request the following permissions:

Camera: Required to scan QR codes and barcodes in real time. Camera images are processed locally and are not uploaded.
Storage (optional): Needed only if you choose to save generated codes as image files or export history to external storage.
Vibrate: Used to vibrate the device as feedback when a scan completes.
Clipboard: Copy to clipboard is performed locally; the app does not read or collect clipboard content without your action.

3. What we store

Local history: Scanned and generated QR or barcode results are stored locally on your device if you enable the history feature. You can delete entries or clear the entire history anytime.
App settings: Theme preference (light/dark), sound, and vibration settings are stored locally.
Optional backups: If you export history or save code images, those files may leave your device depending on the backup service you use.

4. How we use data

Data stored by the app is used only to provide its features: scanning, generating, saving history, and sharing results. We do not collect or sell user data.

5. Third-party services

QRBasic does not send scan or generate content to third-party servers. If you enable a feature that uses an external service (e.g., cloud backup), that service’s own privacy policy applies.

6. Analytics and crash reports

We may collect anonymous crash reports and usage metrics to improve app stability. These reports do not include personal data or code content.

7. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect data on your device and prevent unauthorized access. However, no method of storage is completely secure if your device is compromised.

8. Children

The app is suitable for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Your choices

You can disable or revoke permissions (camera, storage, vibrate) in device settings.
You can clear all history from within the app settings.
Do not copy sensitive data to clipboard if privacy is a concern.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Material changes will be posted here with an updated effective date.
